The North Sea is not for the feint hearted. It can be absolutely brutal at times. You have to be made of strong stuff to brave the icy waves, especially during winter. But that’s what makes surfing up here so great. Despite board shorts and bikinis being practically non-existent, the surf community in the North East is absolutely thriving. We brave the temperatures because we just love catching waves. Once cold blooded, always cold blooded.
